Growth, data and confidence: the Aeonvis discussion on area SMEs in Padua, Italy

Padua, May 21, 2026“People at the center. Those who choose technology, implement it, live with it every day.” This was the starting point of the conversation that animated Villa Italia during the evening dedicated to SMEs in the Northeast organized by Aeonvis.

With the elegant setting of Villa Italia as a backdrop, entrepreneurs, decision makers and specialists gathered for a concrete discussion on how to approach growth in a structured way in a scenario where AI, Cloud and new market dynamics are redefining the way business is done .

The moment that made the difference

The evening consisted of two distinct moments: a moderated panel discussion and a plenary session with technical insights, followed by networking and an aperitif.

But the reflection that left its mark came from the panel discussion: growing requires clarity. On one’s identity as a company, on the data that makes it up, on the partners to rely on. Moderated by Dario Colombo, Editorial Director of Sistemi&Impresa – Edizioni ESTE, the panel discussion put figures with different paths and perspectives around the same table:

His goal on AI is concrete: automate the back office one step at a time, with a clear direction and a partner by your side. Technical interventions: solutions, method and incentives

Concluding the panel discussion, the plenary session offered three substantive operational contributions.

Matteo Longinotti, Solution Advisor Finance at SAP Italy, brought an updated view of how SAP is evolving its Cloud offering for growing enterprises, with a look at the latest news from the SAP universe and concrete opportunities for the Italian middle-market. Claudio Abbiati, Executive Director Sales & Marketing at Aeonvis, together with consultants Enrico Gallana and Andrea Martini, illustrated the methodological approach for agile SAP Cloud ERP implementation, with real cases from companies in the Northeast. Beyond Technology: insights from the comparison

More than ERP, cloud or artificial intelligence, the talk in Padua was about awareness. Three themes ran through the entire evening.

The value of data. Un’azienda è il suo patrimonio informativo, relazioni, processi, storia. Without reliable and well-governed data, there can be no truly effective AI. Talking about digital transformation therefore means first asking questions about the quality and management of one’s data assets.

The role of trust. La scelta di un ERP non riguarda solo la tecnologia, ma le persone e i partner coinvolti. Expertise, proximity and the ability to accompany change over time weigh as much as the solution adopted.

Governance as accountability. AI is a tremendous opportunity, but it requires clear rules: knowing where data resides, how it is used, and what tools to adopt is a key step in building secure and sustainable innovation.

Networking & appetizer

When the work was over, the beautiful setting of Villa Italia hosted an informal discussion between the participants, the Aeonvis team, SAP and CDR Italia. The aperitif and light dinner created space for those conversations that often find no place in structured formats, and are sometimes the most valuable.
